The frog empowering student growth and well-being

Secondary School students, their teachers and counsellors, can now call upon a new platform for support, thanks to an award from the SIS Spirit Fund

SIS students are enjoying new opportunities to learn, grow, and prepare for their futures, thanks to a donation to the SIS Spirit Fund. This gift has funded the school’s subscription to Unifrog, an online platform that supports students as they explore career paths, higher education options, and personal development. The funds have also enhanced communal spaces, giving students more ways to relax, connect, and recharge throughout the school day.

Planning futures

Unifrog has become an invaluable resource for both students and teachers at SIS. The platform brings together essential information about universities and careers from around the world into one easy-to-use space. Students can explore courses, compare entry requirements, and access advice on applications—all in one place.

Our University and Careers Advisor, Yuni Henningson, is leading the use of Unifrog with our upper school students. Together, they make the most of the platform’s powerful tools for researching options, goal setting, and application preparation. Students can draft and refine personal statements and CVs, receive teacher feedback, and track their progress. Automatic reminders help them stay on top of key deadlines, while counsellors can monitor progress and offer support at important decision points.

This approach makes planning for life after SIS more structured, transparent, and empowering. Students gain a clearer understanding of their options and can approach their next steps with greater confidence.

Promoting Health, Respect, and Responsibility

Beyond academics, Unifrog also supports student well-being. In Middle School, advisory teachers are using the platform’s comprehensive lesson materials to teach social and emotional learning. These sessions cover important topics such as identity, consent, relationships, social pressure, and responsible decision-making.

The ready-made lessons save teachers time and can be easily adapted to the Swedish context and the SIS approach. This ensures a consistent, age-appropriate program across grade levels, while allowing teachers to tailor lessons to individual student needs. As students mature, the continuity of these lessons helps them build empathy, self-awareness, and respect for others—skills that serve them well both inside and outside the classroom.

Enhancing Everyday Life
The SIS Spirit Fund donation has also improved school life in other ways. New recreational resources, including board games and age-appropriate play materials, have been added to communal areas. These simple yet meaningful additions encourage students to unwind, socialize, and enjoy positive, screen-free moments together during their free time.

A Lasting Impact
Already, around 200 students in Grades 10–12 are directly benefiting from Unifrog as they prepare for university and career decisions. Teachers report that the platform saves valuable planning time, while students appreciate having clear, accessible guidance and practical tools at their fingertips.

Student reflections capture the impact best:

“I learned the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and how they affect people in different ways.”
“I improved my understanding of how to stay focused and study effectively each day.”
“It’s important to set realistic goals—being honest with yourself helps you succeed.”

SIS Advancement Director, Emma Jones, commented: "This wonderful donation has enriched learning and well-being by allowing the SIS Spirit Fund to support the introduction of Unifrog and other student-focused resources. The gift has made a significant impact—empowering our secondary school students to explore their future with confidence, and feel more secure in their academic, social and emotional development."
